Every project is different and has its challenges, the custom world brings custom problems, you need to be flexible in every job start to finish. -Matt Minard
What is your day-to-day like at Kingdom Productions?
I take the role of a “Player Coach,” carrying the responsibility of delegation, quality control as a supervisor and responsible for producing on the shop floor. Overseeing production in the scenic department and staff management.
What do you like most about your job?
Hard work, design, and finish. Standing back to look at the combination of everyone’s work in the final product is the most rewarding.
What drew you to Kingdom Productions originally? How has Kingdom Productions changed since you joined?
I have a background in 3D modeling which initially got my foot in the door. I heard from a co-worker about Kingdom Productions and was later introduced to Hank. Kingdom Productions have grown in their scale of projects. Our talent has grown, upgraded tools, and overall shop management has gotten more efficient for pre-planning job to job basis.
What did you want to do growing up?
My first aspiring dream was to climb trees professionally. Later in life, I knew I wanted to be involved in art but didn’t know the right direction to take it that’s why I ended up in graphic design. Later, I landed in sculpting and painting.
What do you find challenging about your job?
Every project is different and has its challenges, the custom world brings custom problems, you need to be flexible in every job start to finish. Always learn to problem-solve on the fly.
What has been your favorite project at Kingdom Productions?
My favorite project is the first project I worked on, Tastic Photo in Tampa, FL. I sculpted the entire project, ruins and ancient tablets in the scenic design. I also thoroughly enjoyed designing and sculpting the Kingdom Productions lobby showroom. It took 3 weeks of design work, painting, sculpting, and install.
