15 Oct Let the Wind Blow for Cave of the Winds
Recently Kingdom Productions partnered with Cave of the Winds Mountain Park to create a massive 25′ way-finding sign for their parking lot. The chimes are made from steel pipes and hung from chains attached by a single eye bolt. Our Senior Scenic Director, Steve Brown is the designer behind the signs. The Cave of the Winds signs were created from redwood then sandblasted for texture with dimensional letters attached. The structure was made of metal tubes and welded together, the entire way-finding sign was shipped in 5 pieces.
I really enjoyed the design and sheer size of the project. It is hard to appreciate how massive the structure really is until you see it in person. All together it weighs around 12,000 pounds.- Steve Justice, Project Manager.
“Winds can very greatly from nothing at all to a recorded high of 107 mph,” according to park’s facilities manager, Phil Ranger. The wind-chime is a towering 13′ tall, each steel pipe is 6′ in length. Kingdom Productions has worked with Cave of the Winds with multiple enhancements to their park, these include, Prospector Point Grill, Canyon Rim Grill, Magic Lantern, and GW’ Tac Shop. We are excited to continue enhancing one of Colorado’s most visited locations.
